Pre-Fest Fun
As the Singapore International Festival of the Arts (SIFA) pre-festival,
The
O.P.E.N.
(Open, Participate, Enrich, Negotiate) will present a selection
of screenings, talks, beginners’ guides, exhibitions and concerts, as
well as several ticketed performances touching on this year’s SIFA
theme, Post-Empires, in a more casual and intimate setting than the
main festival itself. The 18-day programme will be held two months prior
to the opening of SIFA. Early bird passes are available for $36 until 10
May at

A Toast to Edith
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of renowned French cabaret
singer Edith Piaf’s birth, a group of acclaimed local artists will
come together in concert to raise a toast to the French music icon’s
spirit and passion by showcasing her classic hits in reinterpreted,
contemporary styles and genres, from jazz and pop to classic,
rock and Latin. The 90-minute show will feature performances by
artists such as actor-director Sebastian Tan, actor Lim Kay Siu and
singer Rani Singnam, among others. See it from 27 to 30 May at the
