SENTOSA SHOWCASE

57

October14

Counter clockwise fom top right:

The Dunderdales acquired this

picture, Five O’Clock, by Russian

artist Anna Berezovskaya, from

REDSEA Gallery. “The value of her

work has exploded since we got this

piece,” says Chloe.

Untitled-Red by Om Mee Ai, oil

on canvas. The artist also created

the pepper sculpture outside ION

Orchard.

Floating Cloud by Tay Bak Chiang, ink

and pigments on rice paper.

Traditional Dancing 2 by Nguyen

Hong Son, lacquer on wood.

One of the last mixed media pieces

by Indonesian artist Heri Dono, before

he turned to sculpture.

“I love this colourful picture by

Filipino artist M. Maungkun. This

piece, Summer Time, is one of four

depicting seasons. It was initially the

colour I liked, but then I started to see

the other things in there; monkeys’

faces, eyes, people in the trees; it’s

so much more than just the colour. As

it’s in my treatment room, I often look

at it. The eye doesn’t just rest on one

thing.” – Kathy

If you’re going to

invest in mixed

media or paper, you

need to accept it

may be affected

by mould; to try

to prevent that

happening, it’s

essential to frame it

in the right way.

– Chloe
