The boat
“We didn’t want anything too big as we would just be going out on her on the
weekends. She’s two years old, has a light interior that’s all custom-made, and
a great sound system. It’s so nice to be out there on the sea; it’s relaxing and
calm, and it’s your little home. The vistas are amazing when you sit out on deck,
and we’ve had plenty of fun weekends sailing, even participating in the Neptune
Regatta – a race to the Equator – last year.”

“We named the boat
Vesper

for many reasons. We’re big
James Bond fans – we’ve seen
every Bond movie hundreds
of times. Our parents’ favourite
cocktail is the Vesper martini,
which James Bond introduces
to the character Vesper Lynd in
Casino Royale
. The Latin word
vesper
means evening, which
is when we intended to use
the boat the most. The name
also relates to the actress Eva
Green, who played Vesper Lynd,
and who went to my university,
The American University in
Paris. Finally, because there’s
another boat named Vesper in
Singapore, she got the number
7, as in 007.”
