What do you have lined up for the

Gentlemen’s Black Tie Dinner?

Pete Price returns for the third

consecutive year, along with ex-England

international and Arsenal legend Ray

Parlour. With his instantly recognisable

blond curls, Ray Parlour, the man tagged

“The Romford Pelé” by Marc Overmars,

rose through the ranks and broke into

the Arsenal side in 1992; he made more

than 460 appearances for Arsenal in his

12 years with the club and won a host

of trophies. The tenacious midfielder’s

medal haul includes three Premier

Leagues, four FA Cups, one League

Cup and one Winners’ Cup from the

now defunct UEFA Cup. We also have

some great finds to be auctioned off on

the evening.

British comedy is deservedly

famous; who is performing on

Comedy Night?

This year, “Mr Liverpool” Pete Price

is compering. There’ll be two British

comedians, as well as the very popular

Mick Miller; Mick has had a long career

on the live comedy circuit and is known

for his trademark hairstyle.

The Grand Finale at Royal Ascot

sounds like great fun; how much

money do you hope to raise?

Last year we raised $76,000, and this

year we aim to do much more to help

fund our two nominated charities, the

Gurkha Welfare Trust and Riding For

The Disabled.

Are the events for British people,

or for British Club members only,

or for everyone?

The Best of British events are open to

all, young and old, and there is definitely

something for everyone!

What do you have planned for the

Open House on 7 June?

The Open House coincides with our

annual Family Day, which has a British

Fair theme this year. It’s the only day of

the year when the Club is transformed

into a mini-carnival, with games, stalls,

rides and of course delicious food, as

well as special offers in celebration of

SG 50. It’s an event for the whole family.
