Before I Go To Sleep
This chilling psychological thriller follows
Christine (Nicole Kidman), who, years
after a traumatic car accident, wakes
up every day remembering nothing.
When terrifying truths begin to emerge,
she finds herself questioning everyone
around her, and what actually happened
to her. Based on the best-selling novel
of the same name,
Before I Go To
Sleep
explores the extent to which our
memories make up our identities. Opens
6 November

The Hunger Games:
Mockingjay Part 1
This much-anticipated sci-fi-adventure
film – the first of two cinematic parts
based on
Mockingjay,
the third and
final book in
The Hunger Games
trilogy
– follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer
Lawrence), who, after escaping the Third
Quarter Quell (translation: a special
Hunger Games in which victors from previous Games are forced to return and
fight to the death), becomes a reluctant heroine and symbol of hope for the
oppressed nation of Panem. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne
Moore) and the guidance of her trusted friends, Katniss fights to save her
fellow surviving victor, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), and an entire population
moved by her courage. The film also stars Elizabeth Banks, the late Philip
Seymour Hoffman, Woody Harrelson and
Game of Thrones
’ Natalie Dormer.

Dumb and Dumber To
Beloved dimwits, Larry and Lloyd, return to the
silver screen – 20 years after setting out on
their first adventure – for a long-awaited, side-
splitting sequel; this time, they’re on a mission
to find one of their long-lost children in the
hope of gaining a new kidney. One thing’s for
sure – we can look forward to slapstick antics
and the duo’s infamous foolishness. Opens
13 November
at Golden Village cinemas.

This month, the annual film festival,
Rendezvous with French
Cinema
,
returns for its fourth edition, featuring a full line-up of
the best in contemporary French cinema, including 16 new films,
shown at various locations throughout the city. It opens with the
biggest French comedy of the year,
Serial (Bad) Weddings,
and will
also feature a special tribute to actress Juliette Binoche with the
Singapore premiere of her latest movie,
Clouds of Sils Maria;
she’ll
even be in attendance to watch it. Adding
to the glamour is a photography exhibition,
titled Inside Cannes. Rendezvous with
French Cinema runs from 28 November
to 7 December at the Alliance Française
de Singapour, Shaw Lido and The Cathay
Cineplex.

This 3D-animated action-
comedy flick from Disney
follows brilliant robotics prodigy,
Hiro Hamada, who finds himself
in the grip of a criminal plot that
threatens to destroy the fast-

Fransokyo. With the help of his
closest companion – a robot
named Baymax – Hiro joins
forces with a reluctant team of
first-time crime fighters on a
