NEW SMM CAMPUS

Sir Manasseh Meyer International School (SMM)

has

announced the development of a new campus, which is expected

to open in Sembawang in early 2016. With fully equipped science

labs, a 450-seat auditorium and a 10-lane Olympic swimming

pool, the new campus should be the ideal setting for the school to

implement its rigorous integrated curriculum. The achievements

in Singapore of the school’s namesake, British businessman and

philanthropist Sir Manasseh Meyer, led to his being knighted

by King George V in 1929. Among his many contributions, he

provided for NUS’s first science building, the Jewish Cemetery and

the city’s two synagogues.
