SPECIAL OCCASIONS

Expat Kitchen Cooking School

9 Norris Road, #02-01, Little India

6299 4221 | expat-kitchen.com

Located within a historic building

in bustling Little India, Expat

Kitchen’s large, fully equipped

commercial kitchen is the ideal

space for all kinds of events,

from birthday parties to hands-on

cooking classes and interactive

workshops – great for corporate

team-building parties, too. In

fact, the Expat Kitchen team can help create a competitive environment

for individual team members to challenge each other in a fun, culinary

atmosphere, while learning great cooking tips and techniques from the

professionals – the perfect way to live out those

MasterChef

fantasies!

Other party options include a “cook and feast”, where you create the menu,

a demo-style cooking session, and a soiree-style sit-down during which

Expat Kitchen serves the food while guests relax. The Expat Kitchen team

can also provide food and beverage catering services on site for any event

you might wish to hold. Kids’ cooking parties are also popular – four-to-

eight-year-olds will love the “Cupcake and Crafting Party”, while nine-to-13-

year-olds will have a blast trying their hands at a “Mini Master Chef Party”.

Additionally, the kitchen space can be rented out on its own for private

parties, with full use of kitchen equipment and utensils.

For event enquiries, email

marketing@expat-kitchen.com

or call 6299 4221.

Inspiration for aHenDo

The girls will love a visit to

Bobbi’s

Pole Studio

(bobbispolestudio.

com.sg); you don’t have to get

down and dirty if you feel that’s a

tadmuch, but it really is fun to strut

around in heels and test out a few

spins on the pole. The

EL

girls did

this a while back, and we giggled

for a good hour (while burning

calories!). Afterwards, walk over

to

Here & There

at Chijmes for

post-pole drinks, or to the chic

New Asia

Bar

at Swissôtel for

sexy cocktails, DJs, dancing and

fabulous panoramic views.

Float @ The Bay

floatatthebay.com.sg

Whether you’re a group of two or 20,

Singapore’s first-ever floating bar is a fun

way to take in the city’s spectacular skyline

over drinks and music. The boats, which

can accommodate up to 30 people each,

are open to the public every evening, but

can be reserved for private functions. Hop

aboard at Clifford Pier, Raffles Place or

Marina Bay Sands, or arrange a pickup at

another pier along the Singapore River by

messaging or calling 8139 9115.

Hire A Yacht

Throw an adult bash with a difference

by hiring a boat and setting sail around

Singapore. There are lots of options to

consider, from group size and boat type

to specific routes and catering – check

out our handy guide to yacht hire at

expatliving.sg. Frommooring on Lazarus

Beach during the daytime to watching

the fireworks on Sentosa by night, hitting

the water is a very cool option.

S.E.A. Aquarium

8 Sentosa Gateway, Resorts World Sentosa

6577 8888 | rwsentosa.com

The massive Open Ocean tank in

Singapore’s popular marine centre is

available to hire for huge dinners and

glamorous parties. If you find yourself

sitting next to someone awkward, just

point at the gigantic sharks and make

polite chat about being eaten alive.

Nox – Dine in the Dark

269 Beach Road

6298 0708 | noxdineinthedark.com

One way to ensure that everyone has

plenty to chat (and laugh) about is to

get them to wear blindfolds and eat their

meals entirely in the dark. Nox offers

exactly that, treating diners to innovative

cuisine that they must try to recognise

with taste buds alone. It makes for an

unforgettable night, and may even

encourage you to try a few delicious

dishes that you’d have otherwise avoided.
