Parade Party
Featuring over 11,000 performers, this year’s
Chingay Parade
is set to be the grandest
parade yet, celebrating Singapore’s 50th
birthday with the themes, “We Love Singapore”
and “Dreams and Hope Singapore”. The parade
will also feature thousands of flowers made from
recycled plastic bags, as part of the “We Love
SG Flowers” community initiative; this gigantic
flowerbed will later be on display at the
Chingay
2015 Night Fiesta
along Orchard Road on 1
March, and at the PAssionArts Festival 2015

Jazzed Up
The Singapore International Jazz Festival
(Sing Jazz) returns this year with another
exciting programme of jazz and jazz-inspired
music. Taking place from 5 to 8 March at Marina
Bay Sands, the four-day festival will feature
performances from over 250 artists, including
both international Grammy Award-winners and
regional stars, across multiple stages. Taking
centre stage is Grammy nominee Jessie J, who
will head up a stellar lineup that includes jazz
star Ramsey Lewis, trumpeter Chris Botti, 10-time
Grammy-winner Bobby McFerrin, British multi-instrumentalists Courtney
Pine and Alan Barnes, fusion-jazz band Snarky Puppy, a capella group
Naturally 7, Indonesian jazz icon Indra Lesmana and Singapore’s Jeremy
Monteiro who’ll be teaming up with Italian jazz organist Alberto Marsico.
