Dance and Romance
As a grand finale to the 2014 season, Singapore Dance Theatre
will present the company premiere of
DonQuixote
, a full-length
classical ballet based on the story by Miguel de Cervantes. The
romantic tale follows the heroic adventures of Don Quixote, a
knight, and his devoted squire Sancho Panza, who together
cross paths with the spirited Kitri and the charming Basilio, both
of whom are on a quest to marry. Expect exquisite costumes,
beautiful staging and glorious dancing from this year-end ballet
spectacular. See it from 4 to 7 December at Esplanade Theatre,
1 Esplanade Drive.

Asian Invasion
Back for its sixth year, the
Skechers Sundown Festival
once
again presents a range of music by artists from 11 different
Asian countries including China, the Philippines, Thailand,
Japan, Korea and Malaysia. The lineup at this year’s outdoor
music event includes Singaporean Jerem Teng, Indonesian
girl group S.O.S., Hong Kong’s
Kate Tsui and Taiwan’s Chang
Chen-Yue, as well as Indian Punjabi
