Why did you pick this
destination?
Bali was a natural choice as I’m a true
island girl and have always dreamed
of a beach wedding – I grew up near
the ocean with swimming, scuba diving
and surfing. I also used to live in Bali,
so it feels like home to me – I couldn’t
imagine any other beach destination for
my big day!
Did you use a wedding planner?
I used Bali-based wedding organiser
Dove Wedding Infinity, and they
did an amazing job of pulling
everything together.
What was the biggest obstacle?
Funnily enough, we didn’t have any
big obstacles – everything ran very
smoothly, probably thanks to our
wedding planner!
What was the biggest expense?
Our biggest expense was definitely the
decoration of the venue, and I took part in
every single tiny detail. But it was worth it
to get everything looking beautiful.
What did you serve your guests?
Because they were from all over
the world, we served a selection of
different cuisines for dinner: Indonesian,
Balinese, Western and Chinese. We also
had a variety of Indonesian and French
desserts, along with cold and hot tapas,
cocktails and beer at sunset.
Did you have any favours?
No.
Any complications with the
marriage formalities?
Not at all. We got married in Singapore
two months before through ROM
(Registry of Marriage). It was a quick
and simple process for foreigners like
us. In Bali, we had our holy matrimony
ceremony and reception.
Top tips for brides-to-be?
Many brides stress about their wedding
day, especially when they’re working
or studying at the same time. I really
suggest hiring a good wedding planner,
as for me this made all the difference.
She helped make my dreams come true!
