JUNE2016

REBECCA BISSET

Editor-in-Chief

They say it’s the little things in life that make you happy; for

me it’s the return of high-waisted jeans!

I never thought the whole hipster, skinny-leg thing worked and there are few women that it

flatters. (Just to clarify, I am not including men in this opinion; even Tom Selleck looked odd

in high-waisters.)

So I’ve been and bought a pair of “boyfriend” jeans and my stomach is now neatly contained

and belted! This also coincides with me having had some fat freezing done on the area. (Look

out for the story online – it will read “No pain, no gain” or something similar…) So there are

two reasons why I now have a waist. It’s quite exciting!

This may be sounding rather shallow – there are obviously much more important things

happening in the world. And I do have other things in my life that make me happy, but those

low waists seem to have been around for a very long time.

We want to know what makes

you

happy, so we’re going to be asking a few questions over

the next couple of months and you could win some great prizes. Just log on to

expatliving.sg

regularly to be part of it.

If you entered our 2016 Photo Competition, it was another year of great entries and a close call

to pick a winner. The results are now out, so do check to see if you won the fantastic four-night

stay in the Koh Samui villa. If not, we hope you enjoy whatever holiday you’ve got planned,

whether it’s a short break or a longer trip.

And if something’s not going your way, just remember: everything (including fashion) is

cyclical – you just have to have patience!
