PORT:
Left side of the boat (when facing the bow)
STARBOARD:
Right side of the boat
STERN:
Rear of the boat (typically where the motor is located)
BOW:
Front of the boat (where the anchor is)
SPINNAKER:
A special type of sail, usually large and colourful, for sailing
downwind
BOOM:
The pole that attaches perpendicular to the mast – but mind your
head, it swings in the breeze
